Ottawa Escapade music festival to require vaccination
If you want to party at the Escapade Music Festival (EMF) in Ottawa in September, you will need to get the vaccine.
EMF announced in a statement on facebook July 19 that the festival will return this fall from Friday September 3 to Sunday September 5.
“On that note, and in line with our continued transparency with our EMF Fam, we confirm that there will be vaccination requirements to participate in Escapade 2021,” the statement read. “We encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated and wish to participate in Escapade 2021 to consider doing so as soon as possible.”
EMF is one of the latest organizations to require attendees to be vaccinated, although organizers have yet to say whether guests will need to be partially or fully vaccinated.
One of the festival’s organizers, Olivier Primeau, spoke to ticket holders unhappy with the decision on Monday in his Instagram story.
“To the 237 out of 22,000 people who complain about the vaccine for @escapademf … There are 2000 people who have written to me wanting to have tickets because it’s sold out for a year and a half. Go sell your tickets on FB Market PLZ “, we read in the story [translated from French to English].

EMF will host a pop-up clinic on July 24 with Ottawa Public Health and the City of Ottawa at the Ottawa Baseball Stadium, “[…]for anyone who lives, works or attends school in Ontario.
EMF brazenly promised that the pop-up would have DJs and giveaways and would be organized “[…]the only way we know how; Getaway style. “
