Quebec reports 499 new cases of COVID-19, one more death

Hospitalizations in Quebec due to COVID-19 fell for the third day in a row on Sunday as Quebec reported 499 new cases.

The seven-day moving average of new cases, which peaked in Wave Four of 781 in mid-September, now stands at 574.

Although only 24.3 of Quebecers have not yet received a single dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, data from the Ministry of Health indicates that the members of this cohort represent 69.3% of the new cases of the day .

Quebec also announced that another death has been attributed to the virus, bringing the death toll in the province to 11,383.

The number of hospitalizations due to the virus now stands at 292 patients, down from nine. Of these patients, 88 are in intensive care, an increase of five.
