The Canadian Championship semi-finals will be played on June 22 in Toronto and Vancouver

TORONTO – The Canadian Championship semi-finals have been set for June 22 with defending champions CF Montreal playing Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps hosting York United of the Canadian Premier League.

Both games will start at 7 p.m. local time. The Montreal-Toronto clash is a rematch of the 2021 final, won 1-0 by Montreal.

Toronto and Montreal, who had byes to start, qualified by beating HFX Wanderers 2-1 and Forge FC 3-0 respectively.

The Whitecaps dispatched two CPL sides Valor FC (2-0) and Cavalry FC (by penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw). York needed penalties to overtake Atletico Ottawa and Pacific FC.

The two winners of the semi-finals will face off for the Voyageurs Cup and a place in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, the elite club competition in North and Central America and the Caribbean.

The pandemic-delayed 2020 Canadian Championship final is scheduled for June 4 with Forge FC hosting Toronto at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.
