WTEN: Braves earn fifth straight win, down Sterling 4-1

OTTAWA, Kansas – The uOttawa women’s tennis team defeated Sterling College, 4-1, Thursday afternoon at Forest Park. The win was OU’s fifth straight victory. The Braves took the double point, 2-1, and were 3-1 in singles play. The game was played to stall due to weather.

Yana Goranova and Priyanshi Sharma won their no. 1 doubles match 6-2. Isidora Hrnjak and Julia Wienese picked up a 6-0 victory in no. 2 doubles.

Wienese took a 6-3, 6-0 win in no. 3 singles. Hrnjak was his no. 2 single matches 6-1, 6-2. Goranova won her no. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-2. Sterling picked up a victory in the no. 6 singles due to the Braves not having a player for that roster spot.

The Braves (6-7, 5-2) picked up a forfeit victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Ottawa returns to the field on Saturday April 16 against Friends University at Forest Park. The game is due to start at 10:00 a.m.
